Invasive Species Brochure/Educational Video Project
Invasive Species- nonnative plants and animals that invade a new ecosystem and have few or no predators to keep their population in check.
Essential Question: How can people best use and protect Earth's ecosystems?
Invasive Species Project Directions:
1. You will brainstorm a list of possible invasive species to further research
2. Choose an invasive species to research
3. Create a brochure or educational video about your specific invasive species
4. Here are templates for google brochures
What to include:
1. Teach about the invasive species- what are they?, where did they come from and why were they brought to the new location?, what damage do they do?, what makes them invasive?
2. Educate on prevention of spread and/or how to deal with the invasive species.
3. Pictures
4. Information should be easy to understand and use
5. It should be pleasing to the eye
6. If you choose to do an educational video you must include all of the previous components and you must provide a script of what is presented in the video. (Videos must be school appropriate!)
